Fund Accountant
We are seeking a Fund Accountant to support a growing privately-held real estate business as it builds out its fund structure and transitions assets into newly formed investment vehicles.
This role will focus on fund-level accounting, including entity setup, journal entries, cash activity, and financial reporting. The position offers direct exposure to how real estate assets are structured, capitalized, and managed within a fund environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain general ledgers across fund and entity structures
• Support fund and entity setup, including accounting structure and entries
• Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly and quarterly close
• Track and record cash activity, including capital contributions and distributions
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and reporting packages
• Support basic debt tracking and compliance reporting
• Review and maintain intercompany loan schedules
• Review and maintain intercompany transactions
• Understand trust structures and accounting
• Partner with internal teams to gather and consolidate property level financial data
• Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation
• Support ad hoc analysis and ongoing fund related initiatives
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1–3 years of accounting experience with real estate or public accounting preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• Exposure to Yardi or similar systems is a plus
• Detail oriented and able to work independently
• Understand trust structures and accounting
• Review and maintain intercompany loan schedules
• Review and maintain intercompany transactions
